Weekend Post

I'm too tired to write anything tonight... in fact I couldn't even come up with a title... but here are some pictures and a video from our weekend.

Super cute overalls!!!
Playing peek-a-boo.
Vita is really communicating well with us these days. Although she isn't saying very many more words (just a few new words here and there) she is understanding more and responding to requests. For example, if I ask Vita to bring me my socks, she will. And if you ask her to locate her belly or her feet or her nose, she'll do it. Just check out this video.
PS - I almost didn't upload this video because my voice is so overly enthusiastic and sing-songy, and I never thought I would be one of "those" people who talk like that...

Happy Love Day

This Valentine's Day, the staff at Vita's daycare helped her make a Valentine for her parents, with cute sparkly red painted handprints and a little poem and a heart shaped doily that she glued herself. Awww. But for YOU (yes you) Vita sends a big hug, and a slobbery kiss, and endless quantities of love that seem to pour out of her constantly. And on this Valentines Day, I've been singing these lyrics from Billie Holiday to my little Vita Valentine. For you Baby I'm a fool But it's fun People say you rule Me with one Wave of your hand Darling it's grand They just don't understand I'll never regret The years I'm giving They're easy to give When you're in love And I'm so in love I'm happy to do Whatever I do For you

Rainy Week

It's been a rainy week here in Santa Cruz, but Vita and her dad still manage to have fun. Here's Vita watching the rain, wearing a beautiful hand knit sweater. I love this. Ernie took a picture of Vita right as I walked in the door upon my return home from work. Look how happy Vita is to see me. MOM'S HOME!

Everyday Adventures

Today, Vita wore a very cute western shirt that was made by her great-grandmother Bertha Kerr for grandma Victoria. The shirt is so well made, and in such great condition, and I could just feel the love in every stitch and each mother of pearl snap button. What a treasure. And it's darn cute, too. The pictures do not do it justice. Bang, bang!

Below is a peek into the random, spontaneous, every day adventures we had in a typical week.
Here's Vita coming over to help me put my socks on. It's so cute how she plays little jokes and starts little games! She knows that putting things on her head is silly, and that it makes us laugh. And then when I try to come in for a kiss, she runs away. Too late. Gotcha! Here's Vita on her own personal jungle gym. We recently adjusted Vita's high chair so that instead of using the tray, we push it right up to the table so she eats with us. Can you tell she likes it at the head of the table? Mom on the other hand, still needs help with her gross motor skills. Good thing I have Vita to help feed me.
Here's Vita watching dad play bass.
Naturally, Vita wanted in on the action.
She was totally rocking out.
Yeah, you know... just hanging out with some musicians. Whatever.

Something New

Since you didn't get any new pictures in the post last weekend, here are a couple of new pics to tide you over for a few more days.
